The Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA)

The Short List for 2013 has been announced…

The Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) is a volunteer run, not for profit, organisation that was established in 1945 and is comprised of branches of individual members who are passionate about children’s and young adult literature – mostly school librarians.

The Short List in each of the categories is decided at the Judges’ Conference after extensive discussion and by secret ballot by the Judges. The Short List usually has six titles in each category. In 2013 Publishers must choose from the following categories for each book: Older Readers, Younger Readers, Early Childhood, Picture Books, and/or Information Books.

Questions you may have about the process of judging and the nature of the Short List might be answered on the FAQ page or on the CBCA website.
